DISTINCTIVE KITCHENS. SHARED HOSPITALITY.
It starts
in the kitchen.
Three restaurant identities, shaped by the people behind the food. From Oscar’s regional Mexican cooking to Sunder’s seasonal lakeshore table, each kitchen has something of its own to share.
SANDY POINT BEACH HOUSE · WEST OLIVEROOTED HERE, SINCE 2013
Many points of view.
One generous welcome.
Our story began with Sandy Point Beach House on the West Michigan lakeshore. Today, it continues in three very different restaurants, from West Olive to downtown Grand Rapids.
At MeXo, Mexico’s culinary traditions come alive through Chef Oscar Moreno’s kitchen and an agave program shaped by curiosity. At Sandy Point, Chef Sunder Pels and the team bring a seasonal sensibility to the lakeshore. At Chicago Beef Joint, the conversation starts with Italian beef, music and a room full of good company.
Each restaurant has its own rhythm. What connects them is a belief that the care behind a meal should be felt by the people sharing it.
THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE PLATE
A kitchen with
a point of view.
The character of a meal begins long before it reaches the table. Meet the culinary perspectives behind MeXo and Sandy Point, and the care that carries through to the final course.
MEXO · GRAND RAPIDS
Chef Oscar
Moreno
House-made nixtamal tortillas, regional ingredients and a modern interpretation of Mexico’s prehispanic culinary traditions. Oscar’s cooking gives MeXo a story that runs deeper than the plate.
At a gathering, that perspective begins with botanas to share and carries through a menu shaped around the occasion. The kitchen’s food and MeXo’s agave program invite guests to explore together.

Chef Sunder
Pels
Seasonal New American cooking with the lakeshore as its setting. Sunder and the Sandy Point team bring attention to seafood, steaks, vegetables and the finishing details that make a meal feel considered.
For a celebration, the same care extends from a first bite to a composed main course. Menus take their cue from the season, the guests and how the food will be served.

Save room
for the finish.
Pastry belongs to the story of the meal. Sandy Point’s handcrafted desserts bring the same thoughtfulness to the last course as the first.
A dessert selection should suit the occasion, whether it follows a composed dinner or completes a shared spread. The kitchen confirms the right finish for your menu and setting.
